Job Role: KS2 Intervention Teacher (QTS) - Hounslow
Overview
SENCare are working on behalf of a special school for children with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, catering for ages 3 to 11 years, including those with an additional diagnosis of autism.
Start: January 2025 (full-time)
Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm (Monday - Friday)
Responsibilities
* Design and implement effective intervention programs tailored to the specific needs of KS2 students with learning difficulties.
* Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and specialists to develop personalized education plans (IEPs) for students.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies and approaches as necessary.
* Deliver one-on-one and small group instruction to enhance student understanding and performance in core subjects.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
* Support students’ emotional and social development, employing techniques that foster resilience and independence.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and other stakeholders.
* Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance educational practices.
Essential Qualifications
* A valid teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) relevant to primary education.
* Specialized training or coursework in special education, particularly for children with severe or profound learning difficulties.
* Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and effective strategies for supporting autistic students.
Desired Experience
* A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a primary education setting, ideally with students who have learning difficulties.
* Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of various assessment tools and interventions for monitoring student progress.
