Mechanical Draughtsperson

Our client, a Defence and Maritime supplier is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join them on an initial 6 month contract at their site in Loudwater.

Due to the nature of the role, we can only consider sole British nationals and you must be eligible for full SC Clearance.
Hybrid working at their site in Loudwater.
Market rates, inside IR35.
6 month initial contract with possible extensions.Key responsibilities of the role include:

Generating drawings from models in CAD
Carrying out minor elements of product design
Contributing to the development of engineering excellence within the business
Providing mechanical engineering expertise in support of future business opportunitiesThe ideal candidate should have:

A degree or higher in mechanical engineering
Broad knowledge of all aspects of engineering, such as systems, electrical, electro-mechanical, and rotating machinery
Experience in manufacturing methods applicable to electrical enclosures, such as metal fabrications, castings, welding, machining, and corrosion protection
Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor
Good knowledge of materials
Good knowledge of best practices in design lifecycle processes, such as gated design phases and design reviews
Experience in designing to strict requirements such as shock, EMC and thermal
Strong communication skills
