Locum Occupational Therapist or Nurse – (Medical Advisor)
Location: Hackney, London
About the Role
Hackney are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist or Nurse to join our Housing Needs team, helping to ensure that residents with health needs and disabilities have access to appropriate housing. In this role, you will assess how individuals’ health conditions and disabilities impact their ability to access essential areas of their homes and make recommendations on their priority for rehousing. By working closely with our Housing Needs team, you will provide expert insight into health and disability issues, helping us develop policies that improve housing options and accessibility for residents with disabilities.
Responsibilities
* Assess housing requirements for individuals with health needs and disabilities, determining how limitations affect access to essential rooms in their homes.
* Make evidence-based recommendations on housing priorities to ensure appropriate and timely rehousing.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide insights into health and disability matters.
* Support the Council’s mission by contributing to the development of policies and housing solutions tailored to residents with disabilities.
* Ensure assessments and recommendations align with the Council’s commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and diversity.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Qualified Occupational Therapist or Nurse, or equivalent relevant experience in disability and health assessment.
* Strong understanding of health and disability issues as they pertain to housing and accessibility.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough assessments and make recommendations to inform housing priorities.
* Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and policy development.
