Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
Seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, manage plant breakdowns, and ensure effective operation of facilities and equipment. This role supports compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preventative Maintenance: Perform and manage scheduled maintenance tasks, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
* Facilities Support: Maintain plant equipment, water systems, electrical distribution, fire alarms, air conditioning, BEMS/Trend systems, and process chillers.
* Breakdown Response: Provide on-call support for plant breakdowns and out-of-hours maintenance on a rotating schedule.
* Compliance & Safety: Adhere to HSE, COSHH, and company governance standards, ensuring legal and safety requirements are met.
* Collaboration: Communicate with internal customers and team members to resolve plant-related issues and optimize facility performance.
* Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement best practices and adopt new technologies to improve facilities management.
Qualifications & Skills:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
* 5+ years’ facilities maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
* Experience with water systems, electrical distribution (up to 415v; 11kv is a plus), fire alarms, air conditioning, and control systems.
* Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and safety standards.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
* Familiarity with SAP and electronic work allocation tools (preferred).
* Medically fit to pass Safety Critical medical.
Additional Requirements:
* Must live within 30 minutes of site for on-call support.
* Ability to work 10-hour shifts in a rolling schedule of five days on, three days off.
