We are Rolls-Royce SMR and we’re doing something that’s never been done before. We’re revolutionising an industry. That’s a once-in-a-career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.

We are now recruiting for a Lead C&I Engineer to be involved in delivering an industry leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of nuclear power station.

What we’re looking for

As the Lead C&I Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across the lifecycle of C&I Systems for the SMR nuclear power plant. This covers the delivery of the complete design of the Control and Instrumentation systems, spanning system architecture, sub-system design and equipment specification and design / selection to realise the final verified design of the power station. You will do this by working closely with the engineering teams from across the power station and applying a structured systems engineering approach to design.

• Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components and systems to facilitate effective system design.

• Assess and substantiate that the design specification meets the requirements.

• Ensuring compliance against international standards in particular, IEC 61513, IEC61226 and IEC61508.

• Produce Validation Plans and define test plans demonstrate that the C&I system requirements have been satisfied.

• Support to planning and implementation of policies and procedures related to the life cycle of C&I systems.

• Ensure that optimum solutions are provided for the RR SMR Nuclear Power Plant by supporting the procurement, operations, and maintenance aspects of the equipment.

As we strive to find the best fit for this position, we are seeking individuals with a minimum level of experience, training, and qualification.
