Salary: £76,500 – £90,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Southampton (Hybrid)

Operating at the forefront of the civil engineering and utilities industry, the organisation is entering an exciting phase of rapid expansion following significant M&A activities and operational growth.
The role is ideal for a Senior Associate or experienced Solicitor with expertise in commercial and corporate law, who is looking to transition into an in-house position. Offering work-life balance and the opportunity to make a tangible impact, this position presents a rewarding challenge for the right legal professional.

* Contract Management: Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, framework agreements, and other legal documents.
* M&A Support: Offering legal input on mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships to maximise opportunities and minimise risks.
* Governance & Compliance: Ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 and Procurement Act 2023.
* Strategic Counsel: Advising stakeholders on legal risks, opportunities for improvement, and innovative solutions to strengthen the company’s legal framework.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Acting as a trusted advisor to both internal teams and external partners, communicating legal concepts clearly and effectively.
About You
The role requires a proactive and commercially focused legal professional with the following skills and experience:
* Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales.
* PQE: At least 5–7 years of post-qualification experience, ideally at Senior Associate level or equivalent.
* Commercial Expertise: Strong knowledge of commercial and corporate law, with additional experience in governance, compliance, or regulatory matters.
* M&A Knowledge: Proven ability to support acquisitions and framework agreements.
* Pragmatic Problem Solver: Skilled at balancing legal risk with commercial opportunity.
* Industry Insight: Prior experience in the civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure sectors is advantageous but not essential.
* Self-Starter: Confident operating independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Why Consider This Role?
* Impactful Work: Play a central role in shaping legal and commercial strategies within a high-growth organisation.
* Autonomy & Variety: Operate independently across diverse legal areas, influencing key business decisions.
* Work-Life Balance: Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options, within a supportive company culture.
* Competitive Package: A salary of £76,500 – £90,000, with an attractive bonus scheme and comprehensive benefits.
This is a rare opportunity to join a thriving organisation and directly influence its future growth and success
