PRU Teacher (SEMH & EBD)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join our team in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting. This full-time role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will work through an agency, providing a flexible yet stable opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver tailored and engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH and EBD.
* Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting resilience and self-confidence in students.
* Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to student welfare and education.
* Manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques and restorative practices, ensuring a safe and supportive classroom environment.
* Regularly assess and report on student progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet changing needs.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEMH and EBD education.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred.
* Experience working with students with SEMH and EBD in a PRU or similar setting.
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to inclusive education.
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude, with a genuine desire to support students facing significant challenges.
