A British manufacturer with over 40 years of experience manufacturing bespoke products from metal and wood all in their local factories in North Devon.
 
What is the purpose of the Estimator role?
 
To receive enquiries by email, review and print drawings if required, obtain material and sub-contract quotes as required, calculate costs and complete quotation documents to be submitted for MD approval.
 
What will be the responsibilities of the Estimator?

Costing of sales enquiries and tenders
Review enquiry or tender, decide if it can be done within capabilities and calculate sales price for each item
Detail prices within the company system, saying how it will be manufactured and the associated costs, including materials
Reading drawings and specifications
Liaising with production and design teams
Sourcing material prices
Liaising with customer What skills and experience will the Estimator have?

Experienced estimator or potential for engineering graduate
Numeracy, literacy, and IT skills to use standard packages
Engineering knowledge, preferably sheet metal work
Ability to read engineering drawings
Understanding of CAD
Ability to work on own initiative and also under direction
