Fire Engineer

The Role

The primary function of this position is to provide an efficient, professional and comprehensive installation (including additions), service, maintenance and commissioning service for a wide variety of Fire Alarm Systems in commercial and public sector properties.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to: • Attending customer sites according to scheduled appointments • Installation, additions, commissioning, servicing and maintenance, and training customers in the use of Fire Alarm in accordance with BAFE SP203, relevant British Standard and other relevant Codes of Practice/Policies. • Full Completion of relevant job paperwork, BS Certificates and engineer reports • Discussing and understanding and fully detailing any customer requirements for system additions or recommendations • Liaising with Alarm receiving centres • Fully utilising company compliance management tools • Taking part in training sessions and tool box talks • Wearing Company Branded PPE and uniform and maintaining a professional image at all times • To ensure any vehicle or equipment that you use is kept in good condition, clean and tidy. • To treat customers premises with the utmost respect (goods and premises) and ensure any work carried out is exemplary ensuring the customer is happy with the work undertaken and that the work is left clean and tidy • To maintain full Health & Safety requirements including a safe, tidy, clean and secure work place with utmost regard for slips / trips that could occur to customers, colleagues and others on site.

Attributes & Skills

• Minimum 3 years experience • Strong working knowledge of Gent, Advanced Fire and Kentec (further training, including Gent, will be provided for the right candidate) • Good communication skills • Enthusiasm and willingness to work out of normal hours if necessary • Full driving licence • Able to competently identify, fault find and repair all types of system • Able to think on your feet and to remain calm under pressure • Personable and able to work as part of a team or unsupervised where necessary • Keen to maintain extremely high standards of workmanship and a professional image at all times • Customer service focussed • Knowledge of BS, EN, NSI and BAFE standards
