Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Home Manager to lead and manage an 11 bed residential care home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and creating a safe, nurturing environment for residents. This role demands a proactive leader with excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and a deep commitment to person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Lead and inspire a dedicated team of care staff to deliver outstanding care and maintain a positive, supportive work environment.
Oversee staff recruitment, development, and performance management to maintain a high-performing team.
Conduct regular staff meetings, provide training, and support team members to achieve professional growth.
Resident Care and Well-being:
Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans to meet resident's physical, emotional, and social needs.
Ensure that all residents receive high-quality, person-centred care and that their dignity, independence, and well-being are maintained at all times.
Act as the main point of contact for residents and their families, maintaining open communication to build strong relationships.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including health and safety regulations, CQC (Care Quality Commission) guidelines, and other relevant legislation.
Conduct regular audits, maintain accurate records, and implement quality assurance measures to monitor and improve service standards.
Respond promptly to any safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate reporting procedures.
Financial and Operational Management:
Manage the home's budget, including payroll, supplies, and other expenses, to ensure efficient use of resources.
Oversee occupancy levels, admissions, and discharges in collaboration with local authorities and healthcare professionals.
Identify areas for improvement and work with senior management to develop strategies for operational excellence.Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a Registered Home Manager or similar role within a residential care setting.
Registered with a relevant healthcare body (e.g., NMC, CQC) and compliant with professional standards.
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, health and safety requirements, and safeguarding policies.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to care.
Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.Desirable Attributes:
A qualification in social care management or equivalent.
Experience with budget management and staff supervision.
