Building Maintenance Engineer

Type: Minimum 1-year contract, transitioning to a rolling contract after the first year

Location: Dover

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum dependant on experience

Hours: 8am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, with weekend coverage on a call-out rota

HRGO Recruitment is looking for a dedicated and versatile Building Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team based in Dover. This pivotal role supports the delivery of the Building Maintenance function, ensuring the smooth operation of the company's facilities and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Installation: Perform planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and installations on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems, as well as project and refurbishment work when needed.

Health, Safety, and Compliance: Oversee contractors' health and safety, manage permit-to-work systems, and conduct audits and spot checks to ensure compliance with risk assessments and safety standards.

Operational Support: Monitor the Building Management System, provide technical support, address emergencies, and ensure all systems meet safety and legislative requirements.

Energy Efficiency: Identify energy-saving opportunities to reduce environmental impact and carbon footprint.

Requirements:

Experience: Previous building maintenance experience in the Building Services, Estates, or Facilities sector, with a trade background in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
Qualifications: 18th Edition or similar trade-related certification, with an HND or higher in a building-related field.
Compliance and Standards: Knowledge of Legionella compliance and industry regulations.
Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence required; company van provided.
