I am excited to be recruiting for a Marine and Tunnels Planning Manager to join the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), where we are supporting the delivery of the Sizewell C Project. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to contribute to the development of a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station that will provide low-carbon energy to approximately 6 million homes for decades to come.

As a Marine and Tunnels Planning Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading and managing the planning for the marine and tunnelling aspects of the project. This will involve developing, coordinating, and monitoring the detailed project programme, ensuring it runs efficiently and on schedule. You’ll be a key figure in coordinating with various stakeholders, including the site delivery team, subcontractors, and supply chain, to ensure the successful delivery of critical components of the Sizewell C project.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning team for the Marine and Tunnels aspects of the project, ensuring all activities are captured in the programme, monitored, and updated regularly.

Develop and manage the project schedules, ensuring they align with the overall programme for the Sizewell C development, while incorporating all marine and tunnelling operations.

Coordinate the marine works, tunnelling operations, and related infrastructure to ensure seamless integration with other parts of the project.

Collaborate closely with the Alliance Programme submission team, providing accurate progress reports, data, and analysis for weekly and monthly updates.

Oversee the preparation of contract programmes for subcontractors and suppliers, managing performance and ensuring compliance with project milestones.

Mentor and support the planning team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting professional development.

Ensure that environmental considerations such as marine and aquatic safety, ecological constraints, and water management are reflected in the project schedule.

Work proactively to identify and manage risks, ensuring that time risk allowances are incorporated into the programme.

Foster a safety-first culture within the team, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety regulations and other industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential: A degree or recognised qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in planning and managing large-scale civil engineering projects, with a focus on marine and tunnelling operations.

Strong technical proficiency in using P6 (Primavera) for programme management in an enterprise environment.

Extensive experience in Marine and Tunnels planning, including managing the integration of these activities into larger infrastructure projects.

Strong understanding of NEC contract programmes and experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across different workstreams.

Familiarity with environmental and regulatory requirements, including the management of marine and aquatic ecosystems.

A track record of ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and other industry-specific safety regulations.

Proficiency in resource management, balancing project resources effectively to maintain schedules and minimise costs.

Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across complex projects, particularly those involving marine and tunnelling operations.

Desirable:

CIOB/MICE Membership or equivalent qualifications.

Experience with 4D/Synchro Modelling and managing large, multi-faceted projects with significant interdependencies.

Knowledge of producing time chainage programmes aligned with the master P6 programme.
