Male Support Worker

Location -Liverpool

£11.55 Per Hour

Role Description – Male Support Worker

Gray Healthcare are recruiting a new team of mental health support workers within the Liverpool area to support a gentleman in their 40's who has a diagnosis of Autism, Learning Disabilities and Schizophrenia.

They live independently in their own home receiving 1:1 support 24 hours a day with sleeps. The gentleman we will be supporting has a good sense of humour, they like to be supported going out in his car, spending time with family and going for walks to the café and down to the Albert Docks.

They will be supported by a male only team on both days and nights. We are recruiting drivers only for this role as the individual we support will have a mobility vehicle to access the community.

Autism Support Worker Required Skills and Experience

* Social care experience, ideally within Autism Schizophrenia

* Full UK Driving License

* Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities.

* Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging.

* Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.

* You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship.

* This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references

Hours

24-hour contracts two x12 hour shift per week during the day and x 2 12-hour Sleep ins.

Induction and Training

We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Company induction, systems, and Medication.) Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominate approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
