Purpose
As a Junior Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping the backbone of the data infrastructure across the joint business enterprise. You will assist in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our data analytics and operations. This role will participate in key project delivery and transformational change events.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide first-line support for data engineering tasks, including managing and monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data integrity.
* Work with structured and unstructured datasets to design and implement data models, performing data cleansing, transformation, and validation.
* Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure reliability and efficiency.
* Support system administration tasks such as managing user access to data resources and troubleshooting data-related errors.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify data requirements and implement sustainable solutions.
* Assist in designing, testing, and implementing data pipelines and workflows, contributing to the delivery of key projects.
Key Competencies
Essential
* Basic understanding of data engineering concepts, such as ETL processes, data pipelines, and data quality management.
* Hands-on experience with SQL (e.g., writing queries, basic database management).
* Familiarity with data tools and platforms (e.g., Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools).
Preferred
* Experience with Snowflake or other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
* Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
* Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and architectures.
