Our client is looking for a new addition to the team, who will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and improvement to all tooling dies, jigs, fixtures and fittings for all tooling. Responsible for initiating and implementing process improvements to increase output and efficiencies
Principal duties
* Manufacture, repair and maintain all tooling and fixtures
* Recommend improvements to current tooling to facilitate SMED techniques
* Initiate and implement tooling improvements to enable the production processes to be as efficient as possible
* Identify, initiate and implement process improvements across all areas of production in order to increase output and efficiencies
* Routine servicing and regrinding of press tools following last-off procedure
* Attend breakdowns, identify faults and solve problems with minimal downtime
* Evaluate each job and determine if it can be repaired in the press or must be removed to tool room for essential maintenance and repair work
* Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales
* Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage
* Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management
* Ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard

Days with an early finish on Friday
£14.25 per hour
