Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a well-established renewable energy business that develop and construct wind and solar farms, as well as other renewable technologies worldwide. Together we are looking to recruit a Junior Electrical Engineer, to play a key role in supporting developments and projects across GB and IE.

The Junior Electrical Engineer role comes with a salary up to £45,000 + excellent benefits and career development prospects. Candidates can be based in Berkshire UK or Lisburn Ireland.

Responsibilities and duties

As the Junior Electrical Engineer, you will:

Assist in preparing grid applications, liaising with grid operators, and managing the application process.
Develop and optimise grid connection solutions for wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
Provide input for pre-feasibility studies and assess technical risks.
Contribute to the electrical design and layout of renewable energy projects across various technologies.
Review electrical layouts to ensure optimal performance and adherence to industry standards.
Participate in project meetings and support decision-making on electrical infrastructure.
Support project tendering, acquisition processes, and execution activities.
Conduct site visits to evaluate potential grid connection points and verify electrical design feasibility.
Stay informed about the latest renewable energy technologies and grid connection standards.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Qualified to degree level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Full driving license and able to travel as required.

Personal skills

The Junior Electrical Engineer role would suit someone who is:

Self-motivated and solution focused.
Ability to communicate and cooperate with an international projects team.
Excellent communication skills to cooperate across teams effectively.

Salary and benefits of the Junior Electrical Engineer role

Salary between £35,000 - £45,000 (DOE).
