Our busy and prestigious clients are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Trainee Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join their team with immediate effect.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in assessing project costs and ensuring that budgets are adhered to across various projects.
Duties
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects based on detailed analysis of project specifications.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
* Conduct thorough research on material, labour, and overhead costs to ensure precise budgeting.
* Monitor ongoing projects to identify any discrepancies between estimated and actual costs, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
* Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, including methodologies used and assumptions made.
* Diary management & administrative support for Project Manager
* Project Coordination - Organise, manage and file documents in conjunction with project and corporate naming and numbering procedure for commercial team.
* Assist the commercial team with preparing samples and chasing approvals, track project timelines, ensure all deadlines are met. E.g. drawings / specifications from customers to assist commercial department.
* Assisting with producing project-related documentation and work packs ready for site teams.
* Helping with stores and equipment inventory management.
* Customer service tasks – tracking and updating sales and order progress
* Liaise with shopfloor Ie sending out packages/materials etc.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry (1yr Estimating Experience Min).
* Strong knowledge of cost control principles and practices.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficient in using estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex information.
* Strength of character, self-motivated and the ability to work under pressure both independently and as a team
Desired Attributes:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not essential.

Salary: Dependant upon experience – up to £30,000 per annum
