About the Role: In this role, you will be responsible for conducting detailed inspections of fire doors across multiple sites. You will be tasked with inspecting communal fire doors quarterly, along with annual assessments of flat front doors, ensuring all installations are up to current fire safety standards. The role also supports property managers with various building safety checks, helping to deliver comprehensive building safety services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform quarterly inspections of fire doors in communal areas, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation and standards.
* Conduct annual inspections of flat front doors across residential properties.
* Document findings meticulously, identifying wear, defects, and non-compliance using specialized inspection software.
* Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, and any required actions to ensure adherence to fire safety protocols.
* Stay updated on evolving fire safety regulations and participate in ongoing training sessions.
* Assist property managers with general building inspections to support the upkeep of overall property safety.
* Effectively communicate with building managers, residents, and other stakeholders regarding inspection outcomes, safety concerns, and any required actions.
* Participate in fire safety audits and reviews when required, ensuring consistent safety improvements across all managed properties.
About You: We are looking for a proactive individual with strong attention to detail and a passion for fire safety. You must have previous experience in a similar role and be capable of managing multiple inspection schedules independently. This role will particularly suit candidates who are looking to grow in the fire safety and building safety space, as it includes opportunities for career development and progression into broader safety inspections.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Experience: Prior experience as a Fire Door Inspector or within a similar fire safety role is highly desirable.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of fire door components, installation, and maintenance requirements.
* Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify safety issues.
* Software Familiarity: Experience with using inspection software or apps to log inspection results.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.
* Organisational Skills: Ability to manage and maintain multiple inspection schedules effectively.
* Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites.
