Continental shift

A leading FMCG manufacturing company that has recently received a significant multi-million pound injection of investment, enhancing their production capabilities with advanced technology and new equipment. To support this expansion, we are looking to add skilled Maintenance Engineers to the existing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business where your contributions will be highly valued, and you will work with cutting-edge machinery. This includes in house training to progress your career, enhance your capabilities and ensure you have the possibility to climb the ladder

Job Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment. Whether you have a mechanical or electrical bias, or are a multi-skilled engineer, we welcome applicants with strong hands-on experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments.

You will be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across a range of machinery, with a particular focus on pneumatic systems. This is a 4 on 4 off shift role covering both days and nights.

Key Responsibilities

Preventative and Reactive Maintenance: Perform routine checks, inspections, and emergency repairs on machinery to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production flow.
Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance: Carry out maintenance on mechanical components (gears, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics) or electrical systems (motors, wiring, PLCs) based on your expertise.
Pneumatics: Specifically troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic systems, ensuring these key components are functioning optimally.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve machinery performance, reduce costs, and increase reliability.
Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve issues within production machinery, determining underlying causes and implementing long-term solutions.
Collaboration: Work alongside other engineers, production teams, and technical departments to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules.
Health & Safety: Ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with company policies and relevant health and safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications

Mechanical or Electrical Bias: We are open to candidates with either a mechanical or electrical background. Multi-skilled engineers will be considered at the higher salary bracket.
Experience: Proven experience in hands-on maintenance within an FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial setting, with a strong focus on pneumatic systems.
Engineering Qualification: Recognized qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) such as HND, HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions for mechanical or electrical breakdowns.
Pneumatics Expertise: Solid experience maintaining and troubleshooting pneumatic systems.
Multi-Skilled Advantage: Candidates with both mechanical and electrical expertise will be considered for the higher end of the salary range (£51,900).
Team Player: Collaborative and willing to work as part of a growing maintenance team.
What They Offer

Career Development: The opportunity to enhance your skills and progress in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Cutting-Edge Technology: Work with modern, newly installed machinery as part of a team driving forward technological improvements.
Stable Environment: This role is an addition to our existing team, so you will not be replacing anyone—an excellent opportunity for growth.
In-House Training: Ongoing training and support to advance your technical skills and knowledge.
