Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Engineer to join our dynamic team on the island of Jersey. The ideal candidate will possess a strong PSV mechanical knowledge and be in the trade or possibly HGV with prior bus experience.

Responsibilities
* To carry out vehicle servicing in accordance with our procedures.
* To carry out routine vehicle examinations in accordance with our procedures and DVSA testing requirements
* Liaising with Controllers on vehicle availability, breakdowns and sign offs.
* To carry out vehicle road testing when necessary to determine specific vehicle defect or following repair
* Attending on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries.
* To act as line management to cleaning / fuelling staff when EM / AEM are not on site.
* To Fuel buses when needed.
Special working conditions
* To work on a shift rota basis as agreed with line manager which will involve 39 hours per week on a 5 over 7 rota.
* To be on call on a rota basis for breakdowns which include weekends which incurs a shift premium.
* This position will suit someone who is looking for a change, there is a possibility to come alone or with family, ideally you will be looking to relocate.

Essential Qualifications and Criteria
* Must be able to demonstrate a thorough mechanical knowledge of PCV or heavy goods vehicles.
* Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fleet maintenance environment.
* Will need to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of vehicle dynamics, diesel engines, hydraulic system and electronic management systems.
* Must hold a City & Guilds Craft certificate / NVQ at level 3 or equivalent.
* Ability to produce report documentation in a clear accurate and readable manner.
* The ability to work independently.
* Flexible approach.
Desirable Criteria
Category D license (training will be given if candidates do not hold
this).

Pay is hourly but there are enhancements for on call shifts.
