Junior Product Designer

Annual Salary: £25,000 - £35,000
Location: Ware, Hertfordshire
Job Type: Full-timeWe are seeking a Junior Product Designer to join our design team at our head office. This role involves playing a key part in the development of new LED exterior lighting products and producing associated documentation. This is a permanent, office-based position within our Technical Department.

Day-to-day of the role:

Engage in the continuous improvement of our existing product ranges.
Utilise Solidworks 3D CAD to design and develop products and conduct thermal and FEA simulations on your designs.
Focus on value engineering and design for manufacture to optimise product development.
Create manufacturing drawings and installation instructions.
Assist the marketing team by providing details for technical datasheets and creating photo-real renders for product brochures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proficiency in Solidworks 3D CAD and Microsoft Office software.
Demonstrable creative drive with experience in using Solidworks.
Good understanding of mechanical and electrical fundamentals to support supplier liaison, component selection, and system design during product ideation and conception.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver presentations of development ideas to managers.
A proactive "can-do" attitude, with the confidence and enthusiasm to manage a varied workload and contribute effectively to team efforts.
