Morson Talent is partnering with a leading aerospace client in the Barrow area to recruit their next Machinist.

LOCAL/NON LOCAL Machinists 

Location: Barrow in Furness 

Duration: 12 Months 

Rates will vary depending on shift patterns.

Rates: £19.40-£40.00+

Please note whilst we expect the roles to be operating on a Night Shift Pattern, there could be flexibility for other shift patterns, but night shifts takes priority.

•Machine items requested by Production/Planners using machines best suited to the task in accordance with the skills of the relevant Machinist. To work to drawing tolerances/parameters and quality requirements.

Core Duties

The role holder:
• Work safely at all times, complying with Health and Safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Follow the relevant instructions, drawings and any other specifications.
• Use the appropriate methods and techniques to machine components.
• Check the completed activity to ensure that all operations have been completed to meet the required specification.
• Use associated tools and equipment safely and effectively

• Reading / understanding technical drawings
• Use of measuring equipment
• Understanding unit of measurements (metric & imperial)
• Knowledge of speeds and feeds for various materials
• Identifying correct tooling
• Proficient use of Fanuc programming packages
• Proficient use of Hiedenhain programming packages
• Proficient use of Seimens programming packages
• Use of CAD / CAM applications
• Use of hand tools
• Prepare raw mateirals for machine use
• Load material onto machine
• Check / maintain machinery for functionality
• Waste management
• Manual handling
• Knowledge of checks, adaptors, bushes etc.
• Material holding arrangements
• Marking off
• Awareness of Dreadnought cleanliness and material segregation requirements
• Capstan lathe
• Ajax mill
• Centre lathe
• Radial arm drill
• Ward 10 lathe

Qualifications:

• Served and Approved Apprenticeship (In relevant trade)

• NVQ Level 3 Equivalent Qualification (In relevant subject)
