We are collaborating with a well-established and highly esteemed children's residential care provider dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support to children and young people. Through their Children’s Residential Homes in Hingham, they aim to create a secure and nurturing environment where children can flourish and realize their full potential.
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in offering direct care, support, and guidance to children and young people residing in our residential homes. Working alongside a dedicated team, you will contribute to fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere, prioritizing their welfare, development, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities of the Residential Support Worker:
Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people within a residential setting, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Foster a safe and nurturing environment, cultivating positive relationships and fostering a sense of belonging.
Encourage and facilitate the development of life skills, independence, and positive decision-making.
Assist children and young people in their education, including homework support, and cultivate a positive attitude towards learning.
Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals involved in the care of the children, ensuring effective communication and a holistic approach to support.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Engage in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision, contributing to your professional development and sharing best practices. Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting is desirable but not essential.
Compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine interest in the well-being and development of children and young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and external professionals.
Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and evenings.
Minimum age requirement of 21 years (due to legislative requirements). Salary and Benefits for the Residential Support Worker:
