About the company

I am working with a leading facilities maintenance firm that offers facility management and energy efficiency solutions tailored to your individual needs. Their services cover everything from building and occupant services to workspace management.

They ensure that the technical installations of your industrial and tertiary sites are in perfect working order and they are committed to their level of performance. In this perspective, with our energy performance contracts, we support you in your objectives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

About the role:

We are looking to take on board an experienced Mobile Fabric Engineer to cover Peterborough to provide Fabric services and associated skills to maintain three schools.

Responsibilities:

· To maintain appropriate qualifications and up-to-date trade knowledge as may be required for the safe and efficient performance of duties, specifically in the carpentry and fabric trades.

· To apply the relevant trade skills to undertake scheduled, planned and reactive maintenance tasks proactively or as directed. This will include the maintenance, repair and installations works for tasks such as internal and external doors and frames (including fire doors), timber partitioning/dry lining, 1st and 2nd fix carpentry and fire prevention works (doors collars, partitioning etc)

· To immediately report and/or make safe, to the appropriate place or person, any potentially dangerous or hazardous situations.

· Carry out minor building fabric & decoration works as directed.

· Support Facilities Site Officers in their duties if required.

· To manage workload using PDA handheld device and be familiar with Maximo or similar asset management software system.

· To ensure the satisfactory, prompt and accurate completion of any associated paperwork as required by the company.

· To advise on parts/labour for additional works interfacing with suppliers as required and to recommend and maintain an adequate stock level to ensure service delivery.

· To oversee specialist contractors and to escort where required.

· To participate in the on-call rota on an agreed rota basis where required.

· To fulfill Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety management Plans.

Candidate requirements:

· The ideal candidate is client facing (job activities that involve direct interaction or contact with a client or customer)

· The ideal candidate has bundles of experience working as a Fabric Technician and within the facilities maintenance industry.

· Strong building services background.
