Tradewind are working on behalf of a SEN school based in Runcorn, committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for all of our students. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support children with a range of additional learning needs. If you are motivated to make a difference in the lives of young learners and have a strong understanding of special educational needs, we would love to hear from you

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Assist in the delivery of tailored lesson plans and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
Support students in developing their independence and social skills within the classroom and school environment.
Help with the preparation of resources and activities that promote engagement and learning.
Maintain accurate records of students' progress and report concerns or achievements to the SENCO and class teacher.
Support students during break times and with personal care if required.
Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.What We Are Looking For:

Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a school or a care setting.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
A good understanding of child development and knowledge of a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and learning disabilities.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A proactive attitude to professional development and a willingness to attend relevant training and workshops.
A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, is desirable, but not essential.
A DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.Why Join Us:
