Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping:

Accurately process financial records and correct any errors.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills for meticulous record-keeping.

Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts, ensuring documentation is retained.

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.

Conduct reconciliations to support the preparation of year-end financial statements.

Post opening balance adjustments after finalising year-end statements.

VAT:

Collaborate with the team to ensure timely submission of VAT returns.

Prepare VAT reconciliations on a quarterly, monthly, or annual basis.

Calculate VAT under various schemes, including Flat Rate, Partial Exemption, and Group VAT returns.

Person Specification:

A strong communicator with a positive approach to work.

Adaptable, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Takes responsibility for tasks and identifies areas for improvement.

Demonstrates professionalism and a calm approach when liaising with clients.

Strong time management and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent).

Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritise.

Strong interpersonal skills for client and colleague interaction.
