Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join a large secondary school in Harrow. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic team focused on helping students overcome barriers to learning and thrive both personally and academically.

Working closely with Heads of Year and class teachers, you'll play a vital role in supporting students who require additional emotional and social guidance (SEMH). This position offers ample opportunities for growth and professional development in a school that values its staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with their education
Work collaboratively with Heads of Year, class teachers, and pastoral teams to implement behaviour and well-being strategies
Act as a mentor for students, offering 1:1 guidance and small group interventions
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to create a supportive school community
Monitor student progress, documenting interventions and contributing to review meetings
Assist in planning and delivering pastoral initiatives that promote student well-being and resilienceWhat We're Looking For:

Experience working in a pastoral or support role, ideally in a secondary school setting
Knowledge of SEMH needs and strategies to support students with emotional and behavioural challenges
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff
A proactive, empathetic, and flexible approach to addressing challenges
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenAdditional Information:

Full-time role, Monday to Friday
Paid up to £125 per day, term time only
Based in Harrow, London - with excellent public transport links
