7.5tonne Customer Delivery Driver

Location – Ayr

Salary - £32,897p.a. + benefits. OTE £37,457p.a

Contract – Permanent

Working hours - Monday to Friday 6-6.30am start. 48hrs per week

So, what will you do?

Lift and manoeuvre customers orders including beds, mattresses and/or bedroom furniture to the room of the customers choice as part of a 2 person delivery team. Ensuring the home is left clean and tidy
Engage all customers by communicating in a warm, friendly and professional manner, ensuring they are left with a positive impression of our service, championing our clients  products and doing all you can to deliver a great customer experience, as you would expect as a customer yourself.
Complete your deliveries on time, to schedule and most importantly ensuring your customers are left happy, keeping your customer informed by calling ahead.

Use the PDA scanner and complete paperwork to ensure customers orders are delivered correctly, promptly and accurately, and working with warehouse and cross dock teams as necessary to ensure products are loaded and delivered safely without damage.
Support an environment and culture where the Customer is firmly at the centre of everything that we do.
Ensure your vehicle is clean and fit for the next delivery to represent our client in our communities, monitoring for roadworthiness and reporting any defects, ensuring compliance with all transport legal requirements.

Who do we want?

You must have a UK driving licence Cat C1 along with a valid driver’s CPC DQ card / valid drivers digital card
Previous commercial driving experience in a 7.5t vehicle
Previous experience and understanding of using digital tachographs
Good people skills and some previous experience in a customer facing role
Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy items of furniture with manual handling experience is essential
Understanding of EU Driving legislation and tachograph law
Desirable experience of using a PDA
