Job Description:
As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations and management of our care home. You will support the Home Manager in ensuring high standards of care are maintained and that the home complies with all relevant regulations and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership and Management:
oAssist the Home Manager in the overall management of the care home.
oLead, supervise, and support the care team, ensuring they provide high-quality care.
oAct as a role model and mentor for staff, promoting best practices in all aspects of care.
• Care Planning and Assessment:
oOversee the assessment and development of individualized care plans for residents.
oMonitor and review care plans regularly to ensure they meet the changing needs of residents.
oEnsure residents receive person-centered care that respects their choices and preferences.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance:
oEnsure the home complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including CQC standards.
oImplement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of care.
oConduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
• Staff Development:
oSupport the recruitment, training, and development of care staff.
oConduct regular performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback.
oEncourage continuous professional development and identify training needs.
• Resident and Family Liaison:
oFoster positive relationships with residents, their families, and external healthcare professionals.
oAddress any concerns or complaints promptly and effectively.
oPromote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
• Operational Management:
oAssist with the management of budgets and resources effectively.
oEnsure the home is well-maintained and any maintenance issues are addressed promptly.
oSupport the Home Manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
• NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) required; Level 5 desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory role within a residential care setting.
• Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality care for the elderly.
• Ability to work flexibly, including some weekends and on-call duties.
