About the Role:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping students overcome their challenges, build confidence, and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Morning Support: Provide focused assistance to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including those with ADHD and potential self-harming behaviors.
Afternoon Flexibility: Adapt your support across Key Stages 1 and 2, catering to a variety of educational needs and ensuring all students get the care they deserve.
Create a Nurturing Environment: Use your talents to foster a safe, inclusive space where every child feels valued and empowered to thrive.
Collaborative Support: Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalized support plans and interventions that meet individual needs.
Encourage Growth: Build strong, trusting relationships with students, helping them develop academically and emotionally.
Personal Care: Provide nappy changing and personal care assistance when needed, ensuring every student feels comfortable and supported throughout the day.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience: Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge: A solid understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices is essential.
Team Player: You’re a collaborative team member who can also work independently when needed.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with students and staff.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in education, SEN, or child development are desirable.
Safeguarding and child protection are at the heart of what we do. The successful candidate will need to pass all necessary safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS check on the update service.
