About the role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in SEMH, you will provide tailored support to pupils who face emotional and behavioural challenges. Your primary focus will be to promote their well-being, encourage engagement with the curriculum, and help them build essential social and emotional skills.

This full-time, long-term role is perfect for someone with a genuine passion for working with children who require additional support. You’ll be instrumental in fostering a positive and enriching educational experience for each child.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEMH or challenging behaviours.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training) are desirable but not essential.
• A DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Implement individualised learning plans tailored to each child’s requirements.
• Assist with managing challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement strategies.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and SEN professionals to monitor progress and adapt support strategies.
