As a Ward Clerk at Practice Plus Group Hospital in Birmingham, you will play a key role in supporting our clinical teams by managing administrative procedures within the ward. Your role will be central to ensuring that patients, visitors, and staff experience smooth, professional service. You will handle everything from appointment booking to maintaining patient records and answering general inquiries, helping create a seamless and supportive ward environment.

Employment Type
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Birmingham. Working hours will be 7am until 3pm.

Additional Information
As a Practice Plus Group team member, you will be expected to work in line with health and safety legislation and data protection guidelines, respecting patient confidentiality at all times.  

What you'll be doing
Responsibilities
- Booking post-operative appointments and coordinating with outpatients as needed.
- Monitoring patient movement within the ward and maintaining electronic records.
- Handling general inquiries from patients, families, and visitors.
- Inputting data into clinical audit and outcomes systems.
- Attending meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining filing systems.
- Participating in stock audits, clinical governance reviews, and CQC inspections.

What we’ll look for in you
About You
To thrive in this role, you should have at least three years of relevant administration experience, ideally in healthcare.
Key requirements include:
*Good standard of education, computer literacy, strong verbal and written communication.
*Previous administrative experience; familiarity with health and safety requirements and data protection practices.
*Excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, sensitivity and empathy, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to teamwork.
*Experience in healthcare or knowledge of clinical/surgical items.
