Salary: £94 to £115 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP/February 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Full-Time / Part-Time
Are you looking for an opportunity to gain classroom experience while supporting students in their education?
GSL Education are currently seeking motivated and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Doncaster. This role is perfect for those considering a career in teaching or individuals with transferable skills from other sectors.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining the smooth running of lessons during teacher absences. You will ensure students stay engaged with their learning by delivering pre-set work and managing the classroom environment effectively.
Responsibilities Cover Supervisor:
Supervise students in the absence of a teacher, ensuring that learning continues as planned.
Deliver and explain pre-prepared lesson materials confidently.
Monitor student behaviour and promote positive attitudes towards learning.
Support students to stay focused and complete their assigned tasks.
Provide constructive feedback to teaching staff on classroom activities and student engagement.
Act as a role model, inspiring students to remain on task and show respect for their peers and the school environment.
Assist with administrative tasks or school duties when required.
As a Cover Supervisor, you should have:
CACHE Level 3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare.
Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting as Cover Supervisor, is beneficial.
A degree in Education, Psychology or related fields.
Confidence in managing groups of students with a calm and approachable manner.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles.
A genuine interest in education and supporting student success.
A valid enhanced DBS check on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).
