Sauter Automation Limited are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our expanding Commissioning Team in the UK.
OBJECTIVES
* Liaise positively and effectively with clients, sub-contractors, and other members of the Sauter team.
* Work closely with the Project Manager team to ensure commissioning objectives and project deadlines are achieved.
* Commission plant and equipment in line with the client’s specification.
* Check and configure, and where necessary modify, project software and documentation.
* Implement panel modification when applicable.
* Undertake client system demonstrations and user training.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Working remotely and reporting to the Technical Director, you will be responsible for the pre-commissioning / commissioning of the controls for all plant and equipment connected to the Sauter system.
Communicating regularly with the project management team, you will provide progress reports and identify snags and issues that are impeding the commissioning process. You will be required to liaise with the client and sub-contractors to ensure correct implementation of design is achieved. On completion of commissioning, you will be responsible for demonstrating, training and handing-over the system to the end client.
Software and product training will be provided, however, previous experience with other control systems would be a benefit. Previous experience in the commissioning of all aspects of HVAC controls and building management systems is desirable. The ability to work independently or within a team is crucial and the knowledge of certain non-proprietary protocols such as BACnet, Modbus and mBus would be advantageous. Knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure and networking is also useful. A full UK driving licence will also be required.
As a southern Engineer most of the work will be within the London area, although you will be expected to cover projects across the South should the need arise. You will also be expected to travel to our Head Office in Basingstoke, Hampshire, as and when required. Sauter operates nationally and therefore you may also be asked to operate outside of your base area from time to time.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Commissioning Engineer:
2 to 5 years’ experience within the industry as either a service, commissioning, or application engineer with a fundamental understanding of the “required experience/knowledge” topics listed above.
Skill set should also encompass:
* Able to work independently with minimal support from others.
* Good communicator, able to convey with clarity technical information to others (clients/internal meetings)
* Diligent, able to comprehend and plan the overall requirements of the projects from the outset.
Senior Commissioning Engineer:
5 to 10 years’ experience as an application engineer or similar within the industry with an in-depth understanding of the “required experience/knowledge” topics listed above.
Skill set should also encompass:
* Puzzle solver, creative when confronted with a challenge.
* Optimist, positive outgoing nature, open minded to alternative options, non-confrontational.
* Leadership qualities, able to oversee/mentor others. Provide technical support to partners/staff.
Principal Commissioning Engineer:
At least 10 years’ experience as an application engineer or similar within the industry with a comprehensive knowledge of the “required experience/knowledge” topics listed above.
Skill set should also encompass:
* Leadership qualities, able to lead a project team, oversee/mentor others.
* Excellent communicator, able to convey with clarity technical information to others (client/internal meetings, client/staff training).
* Organised, a forward planner, able to handle multiple tasks/projects.
* Meticulous, approaches tasks diligently and systematically.
