We are looking for a talented Tech Lead to join our Security Ecosystem Team, and lead in the design and operation of secure services.

We need an expert in security solutions to ensure our ongoing operational stability, lead on technical decisions and approvals for solutions across the team and across DWP.

Your expertise and deep understanding of Digital Security controls will ensure the reliability, security and resilience of our digital products, used by millions of UK citizens.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

Experience of information security, designing solutions and services with security controls embedded.
Experience of implementing enterprise security tooling and platforms in line with the NIST cyber security framework or equivalent, and CIS security controls.
Deep understanding of each layer of an organisation's cyber security controls, being able to define solutions that enable defence in depth.
Leads investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes, driving the collection of information and creation of recommendations for improvements.
Can absorb large amounts of conflicting information and use it to determine solutions.
Designs, implements, administers, and supports Security products and services, ensuring adherence to Digital Security Standards and Architectural Principles both on premise and in Cloud.

You and your role

As our new Technical lead you will use your technical expertise in multiple domains to develop technical product roadmaps and manage product lifecycles.

You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to convey complex ideas and plans to both stakeholders and technical teams.

You'll be advising senior DWP stakeholders on the development of technical strategy, and how we get to right outcomes.

You'll work closely with security, production and infrastructure to ensure resilient and available products, as well as working with our delivery team so that we're aligned and using best practice across product development.

We're hiring you for your expertise. You'll be our expert voice and help us develop the capability of the wider team with guidance and leadership to a team of x direct reports.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £77,740.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £22,521 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days and rising to 31 days over time.

You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
