School Caretaker

Equitas is excited to be working with a well-established school in the South Manchester area who is seeking a dedicated and reliable School Caretaker to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive school environment with a team committed to ensuring the school's facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain the school premises to ensure they are safe, clean, and welcoming.

* Carry out regular checks and inspections of the school’s facilities and report any issues to the senior team.

* Handle basic repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of school buildings, including plumbing, electrical systems, and furniture.

* Ensure security of the school, including locking/unlocking the building and monitoring alarm systems.

* Assist with setting up rooms and preparing spaces for events, lessons, and activities.

* Support with general cleaning and janitorial duties, including outdoor areas, to maintain hygiene standards.

* Provide occasional support for school events, including evenings and weekends, when required.

Essential Requirements:

* Previous experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, ideally within a school environment, is desirable.

* Good knowledge of basic repairs and maintenance procedures.

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

* Strong attention to detail with a proactive and hands-on approach.

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well within a team.

* A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges.
