Context and Summary
The Planner will be responsible for preparation and management of UK Projects P6 programmes. Providing planning expertise to sales and projects.
Main Responsibilities
To establish and maintain effective project, bid and operational programmes, by working closely with the Programme & Project Managers and delivery function leads
To provide support to stakeholders in ensuring that issues within programmes are pro-actively highlighted, understood and solutions are identified
To ensure coordination between internal divisions and subcontractors’ programmes of works when developing Hitachi programmes
To produce reports and dashboards as required to effectively communicate programme compliance and status to Hitachi and external stakeholders
To establish programme baselines and thereafter evaluating the potential effect of risks and changes
To support the Programme Planning Lead in the preparation and maintenance of resource and capacity forecasts and programmes across the scope of responsibilities for the Projects teamKey Skills & Experience.
Essential Requirements:
Self-starter with ability to develop strong, constructive and focused relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organisation levels
Proven ability to work successfully in a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills
Experience, and skilled in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft planning products using Critical Path Analysis in a technical environment
Flexibility to travel around Hitachi Rail locations as required, potentially including international locations
Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all timesDesirable Requirements:
Formal project management training
Good knowledge of SAP or equivalent MRP system
Bi or multi-lingual – English/Japanese/Italian
Client or project delivery experience, within the UK railway industryPerson Specification
Motivated and can work with minimum supervision
Excellent communication skills
Good organisation/time management
Enjoys challenges and problem solving
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Calm and measured in pressured situations
A team player
