gap technical are proud to be representing a market leading manufacturing business in their search for Mechanical Project Engineer/Manager to work at their Facility based in Wrexham

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contract Project Engineer/Manager to oversee and execute engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role is ideal for a proactive, results-driven individual with a strong background in engineering. The Contract Project Engineer/Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and complete engineering projects that meet client specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk assessments, and contingency plans. Oversee and drive project activities to ensure milestones are achieved.

Technical Oversight: Provide technical expertise to guide engineering processes and decision-making. Work with design, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues.

Budget & Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial objectives are met without compromising on quality or compliance.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project updates. Report regularly on project status, risks, and any deviations from the plan.

Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and team members, to align on project requirements, status updates, and final deliverables.

Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all engineering activities adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.

Qualifications:

Education: Apprentice Trained Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical)

HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering - Highly Desirable

Experience: 5+ years of experience in project engineering, ideally within Automotive/Assembly background

Technical Skills: Proficient in project management software, CAD software, and engineering tools relevant to the project scope.

Project Management: PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; excellent communication and leadership abilities.
