Lecturer in Electrical Installation

Job Purpose:

To deliver an exceptional student experience through effective teaching, learning, and assessment, enabling students to achieve their full potential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching, Learning, and Assessment:

1. Participate in the recruitment, enrolment, and induction processes for new students.

2. Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across various environments as required.

3. Develop comprehensive schemes of learning, lesson plans, and assessment strategies.

4. Conduct ongoing assessments and provide constructive feedback to students by setting and marking relevant coursework.

5. Offer tailored academic and vocational support to students, referring them to external agencies when necessary.

6. Contribute to the overall enrichment of the student experience and support their pastoral needs.

7. Maintain an effective, efficient, and professional learning environment.

8. Ensure that teaching materials and resources adhere to best practices, positively impacting retention, attendance, success rates, grades, and value-added measures.

9. Engage in quality assurance processes to uphold educational standards.

10. Prepare students for a range of accreditation and assessments.

11. Maintain accurate student records, including writing reports and references.

12. Set and monitor personal targets and eILPs in accordance with faculty and college policies.

13. Participate in open evenings, parents’ evenings, recruitment events, trade shows, conferences, and other promotional activities.

14. Assist in the development and enhancement of related programmes.

Additional Duties:

1. Foster a teaching and learning environment free from discrimination, encouraging individuality among students and staff.

2. Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

3. Uphold and embody the college’s values and mission in all professional duties and responsibilities.

General Responsibilities:

1. Undertake further training as identified in the college review procedures.

2. Actively engage in the college’s quality assurance procedures.

3. Follow safe working practices in accordance with COSHH and other risk assessment measures.

4. Comply with and promote the college’s Health and Safety policies, ensuring the health and safety of yourself and others.

5. Understand, comply with, and advocate for the college’s Safeguarding policies and procedures.

6. Understand, comply with, and promote the college’s Diversity policies and procedures.

7. Engage in continuous professional development.

8. Perform other reasonable duties as required and review this job description annually in collaboration with your Line Manager.

Salary: £22,824 rising to £23,302 per annum
