What you will be doing as a Service Manager?
The Service Manager oversees the daily operations of the service department in a used car dealership
This role involves managing service advisors, technicians and support teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery, optimising service operations, and maintaining strong customer relationships
Responsible for meeting service department goals, handling complex customer issues, and ensuring that the department operates efficiently and profitably
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the service team, including service advisors, technicians, and support staff. Conduct recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
Customer Relations: Address and resolve complex customer complaints and service issues. Ensure that all customers receive exceptional service, and their concerns are handled promptly.
Service Excellence: Implement and monitor customer service standards to ensure high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
Workflow Management: Optimise workflow and service processes to increase efficiency and productivity. Implement best practices for service delivery and operational excellence.
Quality Control: Monitor and ensure the quality-of-service work performed by the team. Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards.
Budgeting: Develop and manage the service department budget, including controlling costs and maximising profitability.
Revenue Goals: Achieve revenue and profitability targets for the service department. Analyse financial reports and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
Parts Coordination: Oversee the management of parts and supplies needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance. Ensure that inventory levels are optimised, and parts are ordered as needed.
Vendor Relations: Maintain relationships with parts suppliers and negotiate terms to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
Training Programs: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of service staff. Ensure that all team members are up to date with the latest service techniques and industry standards.
Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to staff to support their professional development and career growth.
What you require in the role of Service Manager?
Proven experience in a service management role, preferably within the automotive industry or used car sales
A relevant degree or certification in automotive service management or a related field is preferred
Strong track record of managing service operations, leading a team, and achieving financial and operational goals
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong customer service and communication abilities

Competitive Compensation, The role offers a basic salary of GBP40,000, with on-target earnings (OTE) of up to GBP52,000
Hours Mon-Fri 8-5 1 in 3 Saturday mornings
