Are you an experienced professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for financial administration? We are seeking a Fees Officer to join the Finance Team, where you'll play a key role in managing the billing ledger and supporting the smooth running of the school's finances.

About the Role

As the Fees Officer, you will take ownership of all aspects of the billing ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in billing, fee collection, and reporting. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for someone with experience in credit control or managing a sales ledger, who is ready to take on a new challenge in a collaborative and supportive environment.

While you'll be part of a small, close-knit Finance Team, the role requires a high degree of independence, allowing you to take initiative and build strong relationships with parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain accurate billing records, ensuring data is up to date.
Prepare termly fee bills and awards, meeting strict deadlines.
Handle queries from parents regarding billing and fees.
Chase outstanding fees and provide regular progress reports.
Administer the School's Fees in Advance Scheme and Child Care Voucher Scheme.
Reconcile billing and nominal ledger codes, and manage direct debit payments.
Support meetings with parents and liaise with stakeholders to resolve issues.
Prepare reports for the Director of Finance and external auditors.
About You

We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a proven track record in finance administration. You'll have excellent communication skills, be highly organised, and have the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a calm and professional approach.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Experience in credit control or managing a sales ledger.
Strong administrative skills and high computer literacy (Excel, Word, databases, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with parents and staff.
Keen attention to detail and high levels of numeracy.
Desirable but not essential:

Previous experience working in a school environment.

Salary:Circa £40k per annum, depending on experience.
