The successful candidate will be responsible for developing quality rainscreen façade details, elevations, and plans and with the ability to lead the design of a project or a team. The role demands strong technical skills for using AutoCAD.

CAD Designer Job Overview

Drawing Production: Create detailed façade drawings including wall and plan sections, elevation layouts and annotated 1:5 scale details.
Detailing & Layouts: Produce comprehensive layouts and details for rainscreen façades, ensuring accurate placement of components such as cavity/fire barriers, helping hand brackets, rails, and panels.
Documentation: Prepare and organise technical submittals, ensuring all documentation aligns with project requirements.
Coordination: Proactively liaise with architects, consultants, and other project stakeholders, retrieving and reviewing relevant architectural drawings through document portals (e.g., 4P, Asite, Dochosting).
RFI Management: Raise RFIs as required and communicate efficiently with the Design Manager and clients, ensuring queries are resolved promptly and professionally.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the façade design team and contribute to a respectful, collaborative office environment.

CAD Designer Job Requirements

Education: Qualification in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, CAD or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a CAD design role within architecture, construction, or a related industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, with experience creating detailed drawings for architectural projects.
Knowledge of rainscreen façade systems is advantageous.
Document Management: Prior experience using document portals (4P, Asite, Dochosting, etc.) to retrieve and manage project documents.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
Attention to Detail: High level of precision in drawing annotation, dimensioning, and adherence to technical standards.
Multi-Project Management: Ability to handle multiple projects and meet defined deadlines, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and workload management.
