We’re supporting our client, a leading global electronics manufacturer based in Baldock, who are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Quality Engineer will have experience of in printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing and a strong background in quality assurance within the electronics manufacturing industry, particularly with PCB assembly.

Position Overview: As a Quality Engineer, you'll be performing first-off checks, conducting final inspections, and ensuring rigorous testing of all PCBs. Your primary focus will be overseeing and enhancing quality control processes.

Responsibilities for Quality Engineer:

* First-Off Checks: Conduct thorough inspections of the initial PCB assemblies to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

* Final Inspections: Perform detailed final checks on completed PCBs before they are shipped to customers, ensuring they meet all quality and performance criteria.

* Testing and Quality Control: Implement and oversee testing procedures to verify the functionality and reliability of PCBs. This includes both manual and automated testing processes.

* Quality Assurance: Develop, maintain, and improve quality assurance processes to ensure consistent production of high-quality PCBs.

* Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality inspections, testing results, and any corrective actions taken.

* Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and work closely with the production team to implement changes that enhance product quality and efficiency.

* Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and advancements in quality control technologies.

About You:

* Experience with Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) Machines: Familiarity with AOI technology for inspecting PCBs is highly desirable.

* Electrical or Circuit Knowledge: A strong understanding of electrical circuits and PCB design principles is preferred.

* Quality Management Systems: Experience with quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001 is advantageous.

* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues effectively.

* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
