A Co-Educational SEND school in Croydon, is looking for experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
About the Role:
*
You will support learners with various needs (ages 2 years to 19 years old), either 1:1 or with small groups, ensuring individual needs are met.
*
Work closely with the class teacher and any other relevant professionals to adapt learning materials and create a safe, engaging environment suitable to each individual.
*
Support learners with the development of their Social, Emotional and Communication skills through tailored inventions, promoting well-being and independence where possible.
*
Implement behaviour management strategies and support with any other barriers to learning to allow learners to access their education.
*
Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils and staff to ensure a caring and collaborative working environment.
A suitable candidate will:
*
Have experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly ASD and SEMH.
*
Ability to create a calm and engaging learning environment.
*
Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills
*
Be open and responsive to the varying needs of individuals.
*
Be English and Maths proficient.
*
Understand the varying needs of SEN and potential challenging behaviours.
*
Be available Monday – Friday, Full Time between the hours of 8:30am – 4pm.

Successful applicants will be subject to references and an up-to-date DBS, or be willing to apply for a Starfyn Education DBS.
*
Various Professional Development Training courses available.
*
Payment to their chosen bank account will be made on a weekly basis.
