Our client, a reputable firm in the HTP sector, is currently seeking a GIS Technician specialising in streetlighting to join their team on a contract basis in the Manchester area.

Key Responsibilities:

Possessing a good knowledge of GIS systems, including setting up GIS projects, analysing survey data and producing reports, graphs, and tables
Sending shapefiles of network elements to survey companies and using survey data to set up projects in QGIS
Analysing data and providing a summary of findings
Cleansing data where needed and liaising with survey companies regarding data submitted and formats
Using data to produce reports, graphs, tables as required
Handling follow-on actions with other departments, including modelling work
Updating inventory information or asset data in attribute tables where appropriate

Job Requirements:

Experience in streetlighting and GIS systems
Familiarity with setting up GIS projects
Proficiency in analysing survey data and producing detailed reports
Understanding of QGIS and related software
Strong data analysis skills and ability to summarise findings clearly
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to liaise effectively with external survey companies
