Freelance Site Manager – Bracknell

Position Details

* Start Date: Monday, 2nd December 2024

* Day Rate: £300–£320 (depending on experience)

* Duration: 20 weeks

* Shift Pattern: Night shifts, Monday–Thursday, 5:00 PM–3:00 AM

* Location: Bracknell

Overview of the Role
Fairmead are recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced and detail-oriented Freelance Site Manager to oversee a comprehensive office block refurbishment project. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a dynamic and proactive professional who thrives in challenging environments. The role involves overseeing the entire refurbishment process, ensuring smooth coordination of various trades, and maintaining excellent communication with all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget. This is a night-shift role, requiring the candidate to be highly organized and effective in managing operations outside standard working hours.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing the complete refurbishment of an office block, ensuring all phases are delivered efficiently, from initial preparation to final fit-out.

* Supervising and coordinating the installation and upgrade of mechanical and electrical systems, including:

* Fire alarms

* Sprinkler systems

* Data cabling

* CCTV installations

* Air conditioning/HVAC systems

* Overseeing second-fix carpentry, painting, decorating, and finishing works to a high standard.

* Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and project specifications throughout the project duration.

* Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate smooth operations.

* Monitoring progress against project timelines and addressing any challenges proactively.

* Regularly liaising with clients, providing updates on project progress and managing expectations effectively.

Key Requirements

* Extensive experience managing fit-out and refurbishment projects, particularly in commercial or office environments.

* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.

* Ability to lead and manage a team of subcontractors and tradespeople effectively.

* Proven experience working night shifts, demonstrating high productivity and attention to detail.

* SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS certifications (essential).

* Excellent organizational and communication skills to handle fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
