• Organise and oversee interventions that support students’ academic and emotional growth.
• Deliver staff training on SEND best practices, ensuring that the whole school is equipped to cater for a diverse range of learning needs.
• Monitor student progress and ensure the SEND provision meets both legal requirements and the school’s high standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and SENDCo qualification (or working towards it).
• Significant experience in a SENDCo role, particularly within an alternative education setting or similar environment.
• In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, as well as strategies to support students with diverse needs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, parents, and external agencies.
• Proactive and solution-focused, with the ability to adapt to individual students’ requirements.
