Field Service Engineer

Responsible for conducting field service activities, including repair, maintenance, servicing, and commissioning of new and used machinery at customer sites or job locations. Adherence to written job instructions, quality standards, budgetary guidelines, and health and safety policies is essential. The role requires frequent travel and overnight stays.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

* Preferred Qualification: Mechanical engineering or related discipline.

* Skills Required: Proven mechanical and fitting expertise.

* Experience: Experience with heavy plant machinery, preferably paving machines.

* Additional Experience: Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems in heavy plant machinery.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

1. Timely completion of service jobs.

2. Service jobs completed within the allocated budget and hours.

SCOPE OF AUTHORITY:

1. Ability to requisition parts for service jobs within approved budget limits.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform field service tasks, including repairs, servicing, and commissioning of pavers and related equipment.

2. Overhaul and prepare used machinery for resale, ensuring adherence to approved specifications.

3. Complete and submit all job-related paperwork daily, returning it to the service office upon job completion.

4. Maintain a professional appearance on-site, including wearing the company uniform and PPE.

5. Represent the company and yourself professionally when interacting with customers.

6. Ensure that your van and tools are kept clean, organized, secure, and safe to use at all times.

7. Follow Pavemac's Quality Procedures for all work carried out.

8. Perform other reasonable tasks as needed, and promptly report any issues that may negatively impact the company’s operations to the Managing Director.
