Job Title: Quality Engineer / Quality Manager
Salary: c£35,000 - £42,000
About the Company:
My client is a leading Plastics Injection Moulding company known for delivering high-quality products to various industries. They take pride in their commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. Due to continued growth, we are now looking for an experienced and hands-on Quality Engineer / Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be given the time and clear progression plan to help develop systems and ways of working within the team.
The Role:
As a Quality Engineer / Manager, you will be an essential part of our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality standards within our organisation. This role focuses heavily on product quality, ensuring systems and processes meet rigorous standards, and managing customer expectations with a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage product quality assurance across all areas, including hands-on inspections.
Implement, audit, and continuously improve quality systems, ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards.
Conduct internal and external audits, identify areas of improvement, and lead quality system changes to maintain certification.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and manage customer expectations with a focus on problem-solving and resolution.
Provide training and support for Quality Inspectors, ensuring they are equipped to meet the company’s quality standards.
Educate production staff on compliance with quality control measures, embedding a quality-focused mindset throughout the production floor.
Perform root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions, and oversee continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with other departments, including Production and Engineering, to ensure seamless integration of quality practices within the entire operation.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
Proven background in Plastics is essential, ideally within Injection Moulding
Strong knowledge and practical experience with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards, including auditing and quality system management.
Hands-on approach with a focus on product quality, with the ability to be on the shop floor and address quality issues proactively.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong analytical mindset to conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions.
Experience in training and supporting Quality Inspectors and educating production staff in quality control practices.
Strong communication skills to effectively manage customer expectations and collaborate with internal teams.
Highly organised with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
