The Role:
As a Quality Control Leader, you will:
* Team Leadership:
* Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of Shift Quality Technicians and Apprentices.
* Provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities while addressing any disciplinary issues.
* Provide cover for the Quality & CI Manager and Shift Quality Technicians during periods of absence.
* Process Improvement:
* Collaborate with the Quality & CI Manager to implement new projects, technologies, and systems of work.
* Actively drive continuous improvement across the site.
* Product Quality and Testing:
* Ensure performance testing of current products adheres to specifications.
* Oversee testing of new products and assist in defining product specifications, documenting results through the trial process.
* Conduct root cause analysis and product investigations where required.
* Assist with Measurement System Analysis, Gauge Repeatability, and Reproducibility studies.
* Monitor and challenge production vision and inspection systems to improve efficiency.
* Compliance and Audits:
* Conduct GMP site audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
* Complete customer questionnaires, training records, and relevant administrative tasks within the Quality department.
Your Skills and Experience:
We are looking for a team player with the following qualities:
* Demonstrable leadership experience managing multi-discipline teams.
* Solid knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.
* Logical problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing environments and challenges.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to support colleagues under pressure.
* Advanced user of Microsoft Office packages.
* GCSEs in Maths, English, and an engineering-related subject (preferred).
* Experience with smart factory solutions (IIOT) and their integration is advantageous.
